HURRICANE KATRINA - HOW YOU CAN HELP

Volunteer to Help - General

• Help evacuees to utilize the services offered at the Laid Back Tours Katrina Help Center.
• Help Katrina victims clean their homes and/or tear out sheetrock.
• Provide support services at the temporary housing facility such as cooking, serving, cleaning.
• Transport evacuees and/or other volunteers around the city as needed.
• Help pick up small trash, paper, cans, etc. in neighborhoods.

Volunteer to Help - Special Skills

• Structural engineers to advise residents of their home's structural integrity and safety as well as potential for repairing vs demolishing.
• Building contractors to advise residents on estimated cost of repairs.
• Sustainable Building expert to advise residents on rebuilding for hurricane protection, energy efficiency, flood protection and termite protection.

Donate Money

• Donate money to help evacuees return home and to support the Laid Back help center.
